A proud global ambassador of Hong Kong's budding ballet talent, Hong Kong Ballet continues to cross boundaries and forge new connections with their international touring program. In the spring of 2020, the world-renowned ensemble will bring their kinetic art to US shores in the form of ALICE (in wonderland), an exuberant production praised for its daring, OTT physicality and stunning stage and costume designs by Cirque Du Soleil costume designer Liz Vandal.
First published in 1865, Lewis Carol's story becomes a breathtaking ballet that follows a young girl called Alice who tumbles down a rabbit hole and into a dream world filled with weird and wonderful talking animals and even curiouser humans. Following the March Hare, Alice meets the Mad Hatter and his nonsensical, unending tea party, the elusive Cheshire Cat and, of course, the highly temperamental Queen of Hearts.
